Available chairs all in poor condition

Honest review: Rented a basic manual chair with footrest. Arrived to collect and chair armrests were cracked and peeling, footrests missing and chair not in good state so left it as not fit for use and advised owner, needed footrests at a minimum. Was told could maybe drop me a replacement down ‘in a few days’ but if you need a wheelchair, you need a wheelchair. Had a hospital appointment few days later and was coming back that way. Asked if could leave a replacement in good condition with footrests out to collect. Said no problem. Arrived to collect and the replacement chair had no arm rest at all on one arm so another wasted trip at a difficult time. I requested a refund, which was issued. Called Starkmans at Bathurst and Davenport and they had a chair available, said they’d clean it up and have it ready right away, arrived, was set up, in great condition and was $66 for the whole month whereas wheelwalkers was $30 something for one week. I also rented a knee walker from wheelwalkers, it was dirty and the padding on the seat was worn down so also not great but I made do as I didn’t have the energy to complain further. Likely would not rent here again if ever needed. Lack of keeping the devices well maintained and just hoping someone can’t be bothered or isn’t well enough to complain it seems. When you call excuses made about the ‘supplier’. It’s your business, you’re responsible to make sure items you are renting to customers are in good condition or how can you ask for a 5* review in good faith. I hope they are able to consider this feedback and turn things around.

Wheelchair rental

I highly recommend the service. I rented a wheelchair for 2 weeks which worked great. The instructions for pickup and return are clear and the price is fair!

Company is great, product is a bit threadbare

Chair received March 5th

My experience with your company has very impressive with responsive customer service, an easy and intuitive website and fair pricing.

Where things go off the rails is with the chair itself.
It is indeed an 18inch and works well enough for it’s purpose but the condition of upholstery is very poor. (Pics available)

As you know, these chairs are used in medical situations and while the possibility of microbial transmission is small, it is facilitated by upholstery that is cracked, flaking or missing entirely.

Such is the case with the chair I received with the armrests soaking wet and in very poor condition.

I don’t need a new chair but as one business owner to another, I thought you should know.
